A sign that declared “no Polish fisherman” outside a fishery in Oxfordshire has been taken down. Billy Evans, of Field Farm fisheries, said the sign was put in place after he was warned that “Poles or somebody” were stealing fish. The sign, which triggered a public backlash, was eventually pulled down.. “The sign has been removed because of threats to my family,” Mr Evans told the BBC. “I am not in the country. I will decide what to do on my return. I may close it to all public long-term.” Mr Evans did however said that he would continue to “stand up” for what he believes in. “I do not tolerate thieves, wherever they come from,” Mr Evans said. “I will stand up for what I believe in. If they want to call me a racist for stopping thieves coming on to my property then that’s what they’ll do.” Mr Evans could face legal action over the sign and the Equality and Human Rights Commission had said the sign was unlawful,The Guardian reported. Biggest carp (Which is still up for debate) in Britain found dead.!

The biggest carp ever seen in the UK has died. Big Rig, which once weighed 71lb 4oz, perished after spawning at the Avenue in Shropshire. Tom Doherty was the first to catch Big Rig, at 69lb 3oz The fish was never ratified by the British Record Fish Committee as an official record because it had been transferred from a stock pond to the syndicate venue at a high weight. However, it was twice caught at a weight above the official record of 68lb 1oz. Fishery boss Rob Hales said: "That's the down side of fishery management. "We only lost one fish, which was unfortunately Big Rig. Rob Hales, whose aim was to grow a record carp "It was definitely spawning related, but as I said to the syndicate she was the biggest and very likely the oldest." Rob, who always stated his aim was to nurture a British record, said all is not lost. He added: "However, from her successful spawning the previous summer, we are growing approx 5,000 of her babies, which are now th…

BRITAIN’S BIGGEST CARP DENIED OFFICIAL RECORD…!!

Britain’s largest carp will not be ratified as an official record because it is a “cultivated fish”. That is the ruling of the British Record Fish Committee after the mirror known Big Rig was caught at 69lb 3oz by Tom Doherty at the Avenue in Shropshire. “It’s a very uneducated decision” — Rob Hales, Avenue boss The committee decided the fish had been “grown under an artificial feeding regime close to a weight close to or exceeding the existing species record”. It has subsequently been caught at 71lb 4oz and that weight will not take the record either. “It’s very predictable and I’m not at all surprised. I think that they (BRFC) don’t fully understand the carp-fishing/fishery/growing-fish business. It’s a very uneducated decision. All big carp in this country and elsewhere only get to those weights because they eat high-protein boilies. “I gather they (BRFC) say it wouldn’t have reached this weight in the natural environment – but the…
