fishing holidays at elms farm cottages
Coarse Fishing is available to holiday cottage guests from our two fishing lakes, created in 2010, set in 18 acres next to the cottages. Our fishing lakes were stocked in March 2011 with Carp and Tench in the northern lake and Roach, Rudd and Bream were added to the southern lake.
Boston and the surrounding area has long been an attraction for fishing holidays; Bream, Roach, Tench, Perch Skimmers and Pike can all be caught in the many drains close to Elms Farm Cottages.
A few of the nearby favorite fishing rivers include The River Witham, South Forty Foot, Little Forty Foot, Maud Foster Drain, Medlam Drain, Sibsey Trader and West Fen Forty Foot Drain.
In 2007 the Environment Agency Reel Project provided a fully disabled fishing platform on the South Forty Foot drain at Wyberton Chain Bridge. This fishing platform is 2 miles from Elms Farm Cottages. The closed fishing season is 15th March – 15th June.
